Kalle Kalima - guitar ist Bandleader und Komponist und schreibt für allerlei Jazz Ensembles wie auch für klassische Orchester. Seine eigenen Bands sind Klima Kalima + Kuu. Er spielt ausserdem mit Andreas Schaerer (Novel of Anomaly).
Ronny Graupe - guitar leitet seine Bands Off the Record, Szelest. Er spielt u.a. mit Nils Wogram, Kit Downes, Hans Lüdemann und hat u.a. erstmalig ausgelobten deutschen Jazzpreis (2021) gewonnen (als Gitarrist des Jahres).
Chris Pitsiokos - sax ist in der New Yorker Jazz-Szene beheimatet, lebt derzeit in Berlin und hat u.a. mit Jaimie Branch, Nate Wooley, Tyshwan Sorey oder Otomo Yoshihide gearbeitet.
Oli Steidle- drums ist Bandleader von the killing Popes, Oliwood, SoKo Steidle, gewann den dt. Jazzpreis zweimal (2021 Band des Jahres „PHILM“ + 2022, Schlagzeuger des Jahres). Er ist auf über 70 CDs zu hören und arbeitet u.a. mit Peter Brötzmann, Aki Takase, Trevor Dunn u.v.a
Die vier international bekannten Musiker aus der Wahlheimat Berlin, kreieren in dieser kollektiven Band, einen erstaunlich homogenen Sound, der gleichermassen durch Komposition als auch Improvisation geprägt wird. Gerade weil alle aus unterschiedlichen, musikalischen Lagern kommen, inspirieren sie sich über ihre Offenheit dem Neuen gegenüber gegenzeitig. So trägt jeder durch seinen Kompositionen und seine individuelle Herangehensweise an Musik zu diesem uniquen Bandsound mit bei. Im Jahr 2023 wurden sie auf die Long List des Preises der deutschen Schallplattenkritik gesetzt.
Über ihr jüngstes Werk schrieb die Presse:
„...spielen die vier eine vorwärtstreibende Musik die scheinbar alle Musikstile, darunter Noise, Dub, Rock, Jazz, Metal, Punk und Ornette Colemans Harmolodics mühelos verarbeitet, organisch kombiniert, gleichlaufend oder sogar übereinanderschichtet. So etwas gelingt natürlich bloß überzeugend, wenn die Spieler nicht nur ihr Handwerk absolut beherrschen, sondern auch die Gabe haben, ohne Scheuklappen zu experimentieren. Kalle Kalima - guitar, is a bandleader and composer, writing for various jazz ensembles as well as classical orchestras. His own bands include Klima Kalima and Kuu. He also plays with Andreas Schaerer (Novel of Anomaly).
Ronny Graupe - guitar, leads his bands Off the Record and Szelest. He has performed with Nils Wogram, Kit Downes, and Hans Lüdemann, among others, and won the first-ever German Jazz Prize (2021) as "Guitarist of the Year."
Chris Pitsiokos - saxophone, is rooted in the New York jazz scene and currently based in Berlin. He has collaborated with Jaimie Branch, Nate Wooley, Tyshawn Sorey, and Otomo Yoshihide, among others.
Oli Steidle - drums, is the bandleader of The Killing Popes, Oliwood, and SoKo Steidle. He has won the German Jazz Prize twice (2021 "Band of the Year" with PHILM and 2022 "Drummer of the Year"). He appears on over 70 albums and has worked with Peter Brötzmann, Aki Takase, Trevor Dunn, and many others.
These four internationally renowned musicians, now based in Berlin, form a collective band that creates an astonishingly cohesive sound shaped equally by composition and improvisation. Their diverse musical backgrounds fuel their mutual inspiration through an openness to new ideas. Each member contributes their own compositions and unique musical approach, shaping the band's distinct sound. In 2023, they were included on the Long List for the German Record Critics’ Award.

"…the four play a driving music that effortlessly processes, organically blends, parallels, or even layers all musical styles, including noise, dub, rock, jazz, metal, punk, and Ornette Coleman’s harmolodics.
