We are happy to announce another “roda de choro” at Teatro Munganga. Once a month we organise this Brazilian roda (roundtable), where musicians familiar with choro can participate. So if you play guitar, flute, percussion and would like to play with us, get in touch [email protected]
This roda is led by Elizabeth Fadel on piano and Daniel Montes. This time he can not make it, but we have a very special guest: Marco Ruviaro, amazing mandolinist. And also a big chorão in Italy.
Choro is a Brazilian music style from Rio de Janeiro, from the 19th century. it mixes classical music like polca and waltz, with African rhythms like lundu and maxixe.
The combination makes people smile and even dance. Feel free to just listen because it's usually fantastic setlists decided on the spot.
