🌈 Seed Theatre Presents: An Accessible & Neurodivergent-Friendly Showing of The Rocky Horror Picture ShowSaturday, November 1st, 2025 • 7 PM • Barking Legs Theater
Seed Theatre is proud to present a Neurodivergent-Friendly and Accessible performance of The Rocky Horror Picture Show—a relaxed, sensory-considerate version of the cult classic that invites everyone to experience the fun, music, and wild energy of Rocky Horror in an inclusive and affirming way.
This adapted performance has been specially designed for neurodivergent, Deaf, and Hard-of-Hearing audience members, as well as anyone who benefits from a lower-sensory environment or flexible atmosphere.
🌟 Accessibility and Comfort Features:
ASL Interpretation & Closed Captions — Live ASL interpreters and on-screen captions make dialogue, lyrics, and humor accessible to Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing guests.
Softer Lighting — Reduced-intensity lighting and minimal strobe effects ensure a calmer visual experience.
Quieter Sounds & Music — Adjusted sound levels help prevent sensory overload while maintaining the show’s signature excitement.
Modified Dance Routines — Choreography has been thoughtfully adapted to reduce sudden loud movements or overwhelming visual stimulation.
Relaxed Entry & Exit — Guests may come and go freely during the show, move around as needed, or take breaks without judgment.
Earmuffs & Sound-Canceling Headphones — Attendees are welcome to bring their own; a limited number will be available at the venue for those who need them.
No Flying Props — Audience participation remains fun and interactive, but without props being thrown or flying through the air—keeping the environment comfortable and safe for all.
Freedom to Move, Stim, and Be Yourself — Guests are warmly invited to rock, flap, sway, or stim however they need to feel comfortable. Movement, self-regulation, and sensory tools are all welcome.
Comfy Dress Encouraged — Pajamas, cozy clothes, and sensory-friendly attire are completely welcome. Come as you are—ready to enjoy the show your way.
If you have specific accessibility needs or questions, please contact Seed Theatre at [email protected]. There is also a choice on our ticketing link to select if a member of your party has mobility needs, should be in the section closest for ASL interpreters, uses a cane for low vision, or something else. We are happy to work with you to make your theatre experience enjoyable and inclusive.
❤️ Building a New Standard for Accessible Theatre
Seed Theatre is intentionally working to integrate communities who need accommodations into every part of its creative work—on stage, backstage, and in the audience. This Rocky Horror performance is not just an accommodation; it’s a model for the kind of theatre Seed believes should be the norm.
Fun things to note about our cast & crew:
Most of the cast and crew are ADHD, Autistic or AuDHD
Dr Scott is a full time wheelchair user in real life too
Members of the crew are partially or fully deaf
By designing accessible performances from the start, Seed Theatre is helping to make accessible theatre the standard, not the exception. The goal is to create spaces where everyone—regardless of sensory needs, communication styles, or physical access requirements—can experience live theatre with comfort, joy, and belonging.
This performance continues Seed Theatre’s broader mission: to make art that reflects, includes, and uplifts all members of the community, especially those too often left out of traditional spaces.
✨ Because everyone deserves a place in the Time Warp.
