In this first lesson, Lila Faria and Dillon Arevalo will teach and discuss one of the two main categories of Blues dance: Jukin’ Jukin’ Blues, a group of stylings that were historically danced in juke joints across the United States. They will be focusing specifically on what differentiates Jukin’ Blues from other styles of partner dances. Dancers who take this workshop will leave with a toolkit of moves and grounding principles that are foundationally Blues.
