The Rockin at the Rock - Lawnchair Jam is a chance to build community with local TN musicians. Rock Island State Park has hosted this event for many years. However, Our last Lawnchair Jams were in the 1980's and 1990's! This is a chance to call all of your bandmates, friends, and fellow musicians to a single place for a jam session. Our first jam session since the late 1990's was on April, 27th, this year! The talented musicians at the first jam session want you to come and join in!Help us continue this TN tradition on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 5:00 PM in the Rock Island State Park campground. This is a chance to fellowship with other local musicians, share stories, musical styles, and be part of a tradition. Bands are welcome!
The lawnchair jam is an event that works through participation! Be prepared to play, sing, or dance, and share with fellow musicians!
Be sure to bring a chair, your instruments, dancing shoes, and a meal if you like. Feel free to share! Join the Rock Island family and discover what new music you can make with a new friend.
Register so we know you're coming!
The event starts at 5:00 PM at the Campground Pavilion, in the center of the RV campground. We will setup at the pavilion and on the lawn. Parking is at the Nature Center and overflow is in the tennis court parking lot. To find the campground make a left turn at the second paved road on the left after passing the park visitor center on Beach Road. The pavilion is near the playgrounds next to the Nature Center!
