Rock The Block 2022

Rock the Block, Rock Ministries’ annual block party for Kensington, is on again this year. It is scheduled for Saturday, August 13 from 1:00 – 6:00 pm. Volunteers arrive at 11:30 am.

Each year, we welcome our Kensington neighbors to enjoy a day of fun and hope in this often dark and hopeless neighborhood. We will feature a full kids’ carnival, live music, boxing and grappling exhibitions, all types of activities for young and old, free food and – of course! – the Good News of Jesus Christ.

We’ll need lots of volunteers to staff all the activities, and we invite you to join in. Come spread the love of Christ on our urban mission field!

We will have only one volunteer shift for the whole event so plan on a long -- but FUN -- day!

Each volunteer must register separately.  Ages 16+ must register online. Under 16 may work alongside parents without signing up.

Volunteer check-in will be at 11:30 am at our location:

2755 Kensington Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19134 (for those taking public transportation, we are at the Somerset El stop).
