About this Event
On Thursday June 18, Rochmon Record Club will converge at Lark Hall, 351 Hudson Ave, Albany to listen to and learn about Tom Petty’s first solo album, “Full Moon Fever”. Doors open at 6:30, the show begins at 7 pm with a live audio & video presentation by Chuck Vosganian aka “Rochmon”.
Spoiler Alert! When Tom Petty, who had at this point in his career released 4 Gold and 3 multi-Platinum albums with The Heartbreakers and one mega smash with the Traveling Wilburys, took his first solo album into MCA, they rejected it saying “We don’t hear any hits”. With a change in management at MCA “Full Moon Fever” was released and stands as Tom Petty’s most commercially successful album including the classic Tom Petty songs as “Free Fallin’”, “I Won’t Back Down”, “Runnin’ Down A Dream”, “Yer So Bad” and 8 more. As always Rochmon will have some surprises in store! Tickets at larkhallalbany.com
A Rochmon Record Club Listening Party is meant to inform and deepen our understanding of the history of the individual performers, songs and the stories that went into the making of this classic album. By listening together, we hear the music again for the first time. Rochmon Record Club takes place on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at Caffe’ Lena in Saratoga Springs (caffelena.org), and the 3 rd Thursday at Lark Hall (larkhallalbany.com) in Albany. Programming varies by location, please check websites for tickets and show information or go to rochmon.com.
