About this Event
Overview: This is a 5 day Summer School from June 22-26 2026, aimed at developing learning, engagement and knowledge exchange within the field of robotics. This school will offer a combination of lectures, tutorials, and industry presentations, focusing on cutting-edge topics in robotics.
Location: The National Robotarium, Heriot-Watt University.
Participants: This event will bring together academics, PhD students, and industrialists. All are welcome to come along.
Programme:
Day 1 – Bioinspired Robotics
An introduction to principles of bioinspiration, natural systems, and how biological mechanisms inform robotic design.
Day 2 – Healthcare and Robotics
Exploration of robotic technologies in healthcare settings, including surgical systems, assistive devices, and rehabilitation robotics.
Day 3 – Generative AI for Robotics
Understand how generative models support perception, planning, simulation, and design for modern robotic systems.
Day 4 – Validation and Verification of AI
Methods and frameworks for ensuring AI-driven robotic systems are safe, reliable, and trustworthy.
Day 5 – Applications of Robotics
A broad overview of real-world applications across industry, marine and manufacturing.
Registration: The deadline for registration is 15th May 2026. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis so book early to secure your place.
