Explore robotics, chemistry, and natural science while developing skills in critical thinking, teamwork, and problem solving!YWCA Greater Austin’s GenYW program is providing this no-cost group to explore robotics and STEAM activities. This group will offer participants aged 12-15 an opportunity to try their hand at different scientific activities including robotics, chemistry, and natural science. Additionally, participants will develop skills in critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving. The group will meet weekly on Wednesdays from 10am-12pm starting on June 5th. There will be no group the week of July 4th.
-Youth must be 12-15 years old
-Project materials will be provided by YWCA Greater Austin
-The group runs for 6-weeks, and we ask that participants attend at least 4 sessions
-Youth are welcome to bring lunches/snacks - please avoid peanuts/tree nuts
The GenYW program provides psychoeducational groups and mental health services for youth in their school setting as well as in their communities and at our offices. For summer we will be offering abbreviated versions of our program at no-cost to participants. Additionally, participants and their families may be eligible to have access to no-cost mental health services if they want to pursue services.
Paperwork must be completed by parents/guardians prior to the start of groups. Participants will be asked to complete brief surveys throughout the program to help YWCA Greater Austin understand the impact of this group.
