About this Event
Robotics Lab Series
Ever wonder how animatronics work when at your favorite amusement park or movie sets? This hands on workshop will show you how you can bring things to life and create your own animated wonders.
In this workshop we will guide you step by step on how to assemble your own animatronic eye that you can keep at the end of the workshop (you can keep the 3D printed eye, and servo). Once its assembled we will dive into different ways to bring you animatronic eye to life using simple hardware and software.
For this workshop we will be using a Bottango board paired with an Arduino microcontroller to create your eye animations on screen that will then translate over to the physical animatronic eye. Do not worry , there will be no coding involved and you just need some patience and imagination.
This workshop is perfect for makers, artists, cosplayers, engineers, and anyone curious about robotics and special effects. No experience is needed in electronics, or programming. So come and join us for an hour of fun and leave with a new set of skills to tackle more fun projects of your own in the future.
- All UCR community members are welcome to attend. Make sure to register with your UCR email. Zoom link will be emailed to registered participants. Participants are expected to follow and uphold .
