Looking for a Fun and Engaging Program?

This after-school program is inspired by the FIRST® LEGO® League Challenge fostering project-based learning that’s impactful and FUN. Students enjoy the friendly teamwork and learning from FLL Challenge missions without the stress of intense competition. With flexible sessions available, you can choose the ticket that perfectly aligns with your family's schedule.

Designed for ages 9 to 13 (grades 4–8), this program combines engaging instructional sessions with hands-on practice. In a collaborative team setting, students explore STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) through the captivating world of LEGO® robotics. They’ll learn to code, build, and program robots to tackle exciting game missions, all while developing problem-solving and teamwork skills.

To fit your family’s busy schedule, the 7-week Robot and Coding Spring Program offers two options: choose between Tuesday or Thursday sessions starting the week of February 4. Classes meet once a week from 5:00 to 6:30 PM, with the Thursday option featuring a special introduction to Python coding for students who want to dive deeper.

Peer instructors empower students through problem-solving and hands-on learning, cultivating ownership of their educational journey.

Our program will equip your child with confidence and critical skills valuable in any future interest. At Queen City Robotics Alliance (QCRA), we want to do more than teach coding, we want to inspire all girls and boys to use their talents and abilities to think outside the box, channel their ideas creatively, and most importantly, have fun!

Additional Details:
  • The program will be on-site next to the workshop where 23 robotics teams meet and build their robots.
  • This after-school camp is ideal for students in grades 4-8, and prior coding experience is not required.
  • This class is led by peer instructors who are also robotics competition team members with experience to share for learning opportunities beyond this camp.

Requirements
  • Computer required for all participants. Contact QCRA before the session if a loaner computer is needed.
  • Low-cost, refurbished computers are available for purchase from E2D (https://www.e-2-d.org/)

Transportation
  • QCRA does not offer transportation at this time. The parent or legal guardian is responsible for transporting students to the facility and to see that the student gets safely to and from the classroom.

Food Policy

Opportunity Boost Program

Currently, we do not have the funds to offer scholarships, but we're working hard to raise them. If we are able to provide scholarships in the future, they will be offered based on the following criteria:

If your student attends a Title I school, or receives government financial support. You can initiate the process by emailing [email protected]. We will follow up to determine your eligibility for assistance.

When applying, you’ll need to provide the attending school if you plan to take advantage of the Title I discount. We will accept various forms of documentation, such as a copy or photo of any official government financial assistance documentation (e.g., WIC, Medicaid, Section 8).

In the meantime, we encourage you to follow us on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram, or sign up for our newsletter through our website at queencityrobotics.org to stay updated on any future announcements.
