Robert Haag Author Talk - Footpaths to Ancient Campsites in Copley, OH

Bob Haag will show a PowerPoint display of the artifacts he has collected since his childhood by walking in his own yard in Copley along with local fields in the region. The second edition of his 2006 book, Footpaths to Ancient Campsites in Copley, Ohio, will be for sale. It includes color photographs of artifacts and maps.

The program will be held in the Carriage House on the Perkins Stone Mansion property. Light refreshments will be served including Pearl Coffee's Hell's Half Acre, a medium blend created in celebration of the Society's Centennial last year. Please use 465 S. Portage Path, Akron, to find the paved parking lot.

This event is free and open to the public but seating is limited. Please register to reserve you spot to attend. Books will be sold for $60 each.

Bob Haag found his first arrowhead over 65 years ago at his childhood home in Copley, Ohio. In 2006 he released Footpaths to Ancient Campsites in Copley Township, Ohio, documenting the many trails and camp sites in and around Copley, and picturing many local collections of prehistoric Indian artistry.

In May 2009-11 Bob released his 3 volume compilation of prehistoric Indian relic auction catalogs held in Ohio.

A member of the Archaeological Society of Ohio for over 50 years, and numerous other archaeological and historical societies, he has had numerous articles published in Ohio Archaeologist, and served as a Trustee for the Archaeological Society of Ohio. In March of 2025 he released his second edition of Footpaths to Ancient Campsites in Copley Township including more information and replacing the original black and white photos with color photos.

Bob received degrees in Business Management and Education from the University of Akron and a master’s in education administration from Ohio University.
