Help Restore The Lost Shellfish Reefs Of Moreton Bay!

OzFish is working hard to restore the amazing oyster reefs of Moreton Bay. 95% of this vital habitat has been lost since European settlement and we need to bring it back!

Come and join our band of committed volunteers at one of our working bees happening every second Wednesday and fourth Saturday of each month.

There are two sessions to choose from. The first is from 8.00am to 11.15am, followed by a BBQ and short project update. The second session is from 12.00pm to 3.30pm. If you prefer the afternoon session, please join the BBQ / discussion at 11.30am. You will be manufacturing Robust Oyster Baskets (ROBs) and filling these with washed oyster shell collected from oyster shuckers, seafood outlets and restaurants, ready for deployment into beautiful Moreton Bay. The ROBs are used as base structures for ground-breaking shellfish restoration projects in the bay.

Please remember to wear sun-smart clothing, shoes or boots that can take a bit of water, sunscreen, and a hat. If you have gloves, please bring them. Don’t forget to bring plenty of drinking water and perhaps a snack. Registration is essential.
