Historian and author of the book “Stourbridge Lion to the Stourbridge Line” which was released this year, Beth Anne Keates is a long-time enthusiast of rail transportation. This October, she will be doing a special lecture at the Museum about the significance and history of the Stourbridge Lion and its relationship to CSX. About the Lecturer:
Railroad historian Beth Anne Keates is the co-author of several books including Viewing SEPTA’s Rail Heritage (2021), Union Pacific Railroad Heritage (2022), Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway Heritage (2023), and Viewing the Norfolk Southern Railroad (2023). Her latest publication, Stourbridge Lion to the Stourbridge Line (August 2025) focuses on the history and lasting impact of the first steam locomotive tested in the United States. Outside of her research, Keates practices photography and serves as the Regent of the Lansdowne Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution.
