Here’s the vibe: We’ll share 2–3 book recommendations ahead of time. You can read one, all, or honestly none at all. At the meetup, you’ll be able to float around, chat in small groups about the books you’re interested in, and most importantly meet other girls in a low-pressure way. The hope is that people naturally click and maybe spin off into more traditional book clubs or find an existing book club they want to join based on shared interests.Our book picks:
• Wuthering Heights
• The Housemaid
• The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks
Why we’re doing it this way: This group has grown so much faster than we anticipated. It's become apparent that so many gals are looking for easy, low-pressure ways to connect. SO many of us were excited about the idea of a book club, and this felt like the best way to make it accessible to everyone. Instead of a single required read, this format gives us all the chance to meet a lot of different girls, move around, chat naturally, and find the people we really click with — whether that turns into a future book club, coffee dates, or new friendships.
Some extra fun details: The BiblioPub will be offering a Roanoke Girls Group discount on books purchased through the store. We'll share more details on this once we've chosen our recommended reads!
