About this Event
Road Ecology and Wildlife Crossing
Tracy Davids and Ben Prater, leaders in the Safe Passage Fund Coalition comprised of over 20 organizations, will share how the group is preventing wildlife-vehicle collisions along Interstate 40 between Asheville and Knoxville. You’ll hear the story of how Safe Passage: The I-40 Pigeon River Gorge Wildlife Crossing Project got started, why it's important, what’s at stake, and who’s involved. Learn what activities are currently underway to help wildlife across this major highway that bisects the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Pisgah National Forest, and how you can help.
