Ready to master the decks? Counting to 4: DJ Basics introduces participants to the fundamental skills required for modern DJ mixing. Students will learn the essentials of beatmatching, phrasing, and creating smooth transitions in a hands-on environment.
The course is designed for beginners, and no previous DJ experience is required. Participants will work with AlphaTheta equipment. Those who would like to mix their own music should download Rekordbox and bring an optimized USB drive containing their music.
About the Instructor:
Ian Steele is a music-industry professional with experience in both the business and performance sides of the industry. He is an active band member, dance-music producer, and DJ who performs throughout the Front Range under the name Eastlin.
Eastlin: When the sun sets and the party begins, Eastlin's DJ sets take over. Turning the night into an electrifying symphony of beats and rhythms. His ability to navigate through genres with finesse ensures that every listener finds their groove - be it in the pulsating thump of EDM, the nostalgic embrace of retro classics, or the infectious energy of chart-topping hits.
