About this Event
What is Melbourne graphic design now? How has it changed in the past decade? Where is it heading? Babel Bookcase offers an insight into the worlds of graphic design and communication design in and from Naarm/Melbourne over the past ten years.
This panel presentation will feature the curator of Babel Bookcase Associate Professor Brad Haylock, Curator of Melbourne Design Week Dr Timothy Moore, and a number of communication designers whose works are featured within the exhibition.
We will discuss the importance of place, history, and research within communication design. Panellists will speak to the exhibition as well as inspire you to research other underrepresented designers for your Hidden Histories project, how they incorporate history within their own design practices, and how they conduct their own research.
This is a fantastic opportunity to engage with living histories of design, and hear from a range of inspiring designers working across Melbourne. And to see the exhibition.
We will meet at the Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia entrance/lobby, where we will be escorted to a lecture theatre for the event.
