Moderator:

Hart Buck, Vice President, Insolvency & Investment

Hart joined Colliers in 1985 specializing in land sales. Over the course of his career, this specialization has allowed him to create many long-term relationships within the development community. During the periods of low demand for development opportunities, Hart began to create his market niche within the insolvency sectors, by servicing the requirements of foreclosing lenders and transactions requiring court oversight.

Hart was a vital member of the sales team of Glen Robin Place, a substantial strata sale prior to any amendments to the Strata Property Act and has become a leader within the realm of strata wind-ups and sales.

Panelists:

Jennifer Darling, Senior Associate, Investment & Development

Jennifer joined Colliers in September 2015. She specializes in the sale of Redevelopment Land and Investment Properties with an established expertise in the Strata Wind Up Process in British Columbia. Jennifer is a graduate of McGill University where she studied business and has a Diploma in Urban Land Economics program at the University of British Columbia specializing in Development. Jennifer was awarded the Colliers Vancouver Rookie of the Year award in 2018 and has been involved in the sale of over $400M in real estate assets since 2016.

Liam Simpson, Senior Associate, Industrial, Colliers
Liam is a dedicated commercial real estate professional specializing in industrial assets throughout the Fraser Valley. Having started his career in commercial real estate immediately after graduating from the University of British Columbia, Liam operates as a strategic advisor to his clients. His approach involves a thorough understanding of his clients' business, allowing him to deliver real estate solutions for business problems.
With a distinct focus on key markets and operators, Liam sources valuable opportunities for owners, occupiers, investors, and developers. Liam possesses a strong track record of successfully representing clients in land, strata warehousing, and freestanding warehousing transactions, from both a sales and leasing perspective.

Jennica Palecek, Associate Vice President, Commercial, Colliers

Jennica Palecek is a leading commercial real estate broker at Colliers, advising startups and global enterprises on office leasing and strategy across North America. She co-founded the National Developing Leaders Chapter, a cohort of 12 top office brokers who have met with major developers and occupiers in New York, Montreal, Toronto, Calgary, and Vancouver to bring innovative market intelligence back to their regions.

She serves on several nonprofit boards, including the Canadian Mental Health Association and Big Brothers Big Sisters, and sits on the Board of Advisors for the Secure Buildings Council, where she works with developers and large tenants to shape building standards that reflect emerging safety needs.

Her industry recognition includes being a finalist for both the Colliers Rising Star Award and the CREW Rising Star Award, a winner of the Connect CRE Next Gen Award, and most recently a finalist for CREW Vancouver’s Woman of Influence Award.
