In this workshop, students will create a “locket” made from multiple pieces of metal that are stacked and joined with a tube rivet. The rivet allows the individual pieces of metal to rotate. Skills taught include texturing with the rolling mill, cutting metal shapes using the hydraulic press and FSS dies or pancake dies, riveting, sawing, stamping, polishing, and applying a patina. Create a one-of-a-kind personal affirmation locket with a beautiful message for yourself or a loved one. Class fee includes copper for students to work with. If you would like to use another metal (such as sterling silver) you can bring it with you to class. We recommend 18 or 20 gauge and a minimum of 3" x 3". The classroom is located at 1949 E.
