On Saturday 29th January at Riverton Leisureplex, the pool areas will be open to the public as per usual from 7:00am-1:00pm, but will then be reserved for exclusive usage for ticket holders for the Summerplex Event. Cannington or Riverton will still be available for normal pool use when an event is being hosted at the opposite facility.
Will regularly scheduled Leisureplex Programs be impacted?
We have chosen to schedule the Summerplex on Saturday afternoons to create no disruption to any of our regular pool programs including Aqua Aerobics. Our gym and fitness spaces will be open for regular scheduled use. General pool use at Cannington will be available on the afternoons of 29th January when the Riverton events are being held.
What should I wear?
The event will be predominately held in the pool areas so bathers are a must! If you choose to take part with some of our external attractions at the Riverton events, if it’s going to be nice and warm outside, remember to slip, slop, slap and slide.
Can I bring my own food to the event?
There will be a barbeque hosted by the Riverton Café staff on 29th January Summerplex events in the external pool courtyard, with food and drinks available for purchase. Events hosted at Riverton will have their normal Café’s open and menus available as well, or you are welcome to bring your own picnic for you and your family to enjoy. Eskies and cooler bags will be checked on entry. Please remember glass containers and alcohol are not permitted at any event.
Where should I go when I arrive?
Participants are permitted to enter anytime from 2:00pm-5:00pm during the duration of the event. Summerplex participants are required to present either a printed or mobile ticket to main reception, before being granted access to the event.
Will there be photos and videos taken?
There will be photos and videos taken on the day by our staff and hired photographers. We are looking for some big smiles to show off the Summerplex to future participants. Be sure to be on the lookout for our very own Leisureplex Lion mascot who will be looking for participants to upload their best “Lion Pose” to either Facebook or Instagram with the hashtags #Summerplex and #GetActiveCanning.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Pre-purchased tickets must be produced upon entry. Printed option would be recommended, however, provided a visible and applicable on a mobile device would suffice at reception for everyone aged 3 years and over.
What happens if it is raining?
Summerplex will run in any weather condition that we consider safe for our participants. In the event of extreme inclement weather, such as thunder or lightning, we will inform you of any changes to our event via the City of Canning website, email and our event Facebook page.
Will there be lockers available at the event?
Limited lockers will be available for hire on the day around the pool area, participants are encouraged to leave valuables at home to avoid issues with limited locker availability.
