Rivers Prize Ceremony Honoring Les Éditions Tintamarre / Cérémonie du Prix Rivers en l'honneur des Éditions Tintamarre

The Center for Louisiana Studies is proud to present the James William Rivers Prize in Louisiana Studies to Les Éditions Tintamarre, the only exclusively francophone press in the United States.
Under the direction of Dr. Dana Kress, Professor Emeritus of French at Centenary College of Louisiana, Tintamarre has grown from a project to revive historic Louisiana French texts into a living literary beacon for language revitalization in French and Creole. In the past three years alone, the press published the first Louisiana French novel written in over a century by Zachary Richard, has brought Barry Ancelet's poetic memoir Vatican to print, and has published some of the youngest speakers of Louisiana French and Creole in the state.
The Rivers Prize honors persons and organizations who have contributed outstanding scholarly work, teaching, or creative achievement in the culture, history, arts, literature, and life of Louisiana and its people. Find out more about the prize here: https://louisianastudies.louisiana.edu/node/29694
