About this Event

King’s Legal Clinic invites you to the Rivers Hackathon as part of the Global Day of Action for Climate Justice.

Since 2020 the King’s Legal Clinic has been working to raise awareness of the impact of our actions in the global north and of climate change and on communities who live around the Sundarbans river delta in West Bengal. Extreme weather events, salinated water and the pressure on the environment is forcing these communities to leave the delta and migrate yet again.

Meanwhile in the UK, pressure on our rivers is preventing the migration of fish and killing the wildlife which lives in and around them.

At the hackathon lawyers, artists, campaigners and students will exchange ideas and experience on these themes. Participants will then discuss and develop strategies to tackle the impacts of climate change on their communities and their rivers.

This event is also part of King's Culture's Lost and Found season.
