Embark on a one-hour walking tour with Friends of Lebanon Cemetery and discover the stories of the United States Colored Troops (USCT) buried there. This tour, led by Tina Charles, Co-Founder of the Friends of Lebanon Cemetery, offers a unique glimpse into the past and the significant contributions of the USCT.
Lebanon Cemetery recently became the first Civil War Trails site in North York, PA, joining the multi-state Civil War Trails program with over 1,500 historical sites. For more information on the Civil War trails, visit https://www.civilwartrails.org/
Riverfest: CapFilm - "Glory" at the Appell Center

📍 Venue: Capitol Theatre, Appell Center
Experience the powerful story of the U.S. Civil War’s first all-black regiment in the film "Glory," featuring stars like Denzel Washington, Morgan Freeman, and Matthew Broderick. Before the screening, join a cemetery tour at 11 AM with the Friends of Lebanon Cemetery. Local historian Samantha L. Dorm will introduce the film and share York’s connections to the USCT regiments.
A portion of ticket sales will support the Friends of Lebanon Cemetery. Don’t miss this special event that combines history and cinema.
