A closing event has been planned on Friday, June 11, 6-8:00 pm. Alcohol may be served but food will not likely be offered at this event.
Janis Mars Wunderlich will award ribbons and monetary prizes. The ribbons will be displayed next the winning pieces in the gallery. Janis has been the recipient of several awards and grants, including multiple fellowships from The Ohio Arts Council and The Greater Columbus Arts Council. Janis is a 2020 Fellowship Award Recipient from the Illinois Arts Council Agency. Janis is an assistant professor of art history, ceramics, and art foundations at Monmouth College, Monmouth, Illinois. She is represented by Sherrie Gallery in Columbus, Ohio. In 2020, Janis exhibited ceramic sculptures, prints, and for the first time, paintings at The Contemporary Art Center of Peoria in 2020.
In this group exhibit, Galesburg Civic Art Center hosts the artists enrolled in Contemporary Art Center of Peoria’s CIAO membership program. CIAO (Central Illinois Artists Organization) is the name of Contemporary Art Center’s Artist Membership Program offering promotion, education and exhibition opportunities. Each artist enrolled in the program is invited to display one piece. Any Central Illinois artist may enroll. More group exhibits and opportunities are planned.
