River City Brass Band
Opening Act: Brad Rhae (of Grinning Mob/Flowerchild)
America’s 250th birthday merits a party that lasts all year and who better to help SummerSounds celebrate than Pittsburgh’s own River City Brass Band.
The River City Brass, a Pittsburgh-based, fulltime, professional brass band, has delighted audiences across the region for more than four decades. Hear the musical magic that happens when trumpets, tubas, baritones and maybe even 76 trombones take the stage at St. Clair Park.
We’ve got no “trouble in River City.” But when the classic brass band comes to town there is something for everyone.
A playlist that highlights the band’s wide-ranging repertoire promises a mix of patriotic marches, American masterpieces, and iconic rock anthems under the stars at St. Clair Park.
Care to sing along? That’s a tradition at River city brass concerts. And we’re sure more than a few fans know the words to rock favorites like “Renegade,” and “Carry on Wayward Son.”
Finally, the River City Brass will feature a special treat for Summer Sounds fans as vocalist Aubrey Burchell makes her entrance. Burchell, a North Huntingdon native, honed her powerhouse talents at the former Keynote Café in Jeannette and went on to gain rave reviews as a semi-finalist on America’s Got Talent.
The magnetic redhead , who has been singing at venues here since she was 16, will join the Brass for a selection of the well-known soulful ballads guaranteed to take your breath away. “Can You Feel the Love Tonight?” We’re sure you will with Aubrey and the Brass.
