Igor Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring was so controversial at its 1913 premiere that it reportedly sparked riots. Now reimagined by leading Brazilian choreographer Deborah Colker, RITE showcases her signature style of bold, precise movement shaped by athleticism and powerful physicality.

Colker takes Stravinsky’s iconic score in a new direction, blending it with Brazilian sounds and rhythms. The work explores origin, evolution, and survival through a powerful ritual. Bodies pulse, gather, break apart, and come together again, creating a fierce and sensual vision of spring.

From shaping movement for the Rio de Janeiro Olympics opening ceremony to becoming the first woman to direct for Cirque du Soleil, where she directed OVO, Colker brings a bold vision to the stage. With major honours including the Prix Benois de la Danse and the Laurence Olivier Award, her Rio-born company delivers a performance of striking power and originality.
