Workshop Details:
In this workshop, open to participants of any level, we will learn the basics of risograph printing. Every participant will have the opportunity to operate the press (change the drum, adjust scanning settings, work with registration issues) to print a 2-color, 8.5” x 11” print from digital or analog files in an edition of 20. Our color options are Cornflower Blue, Fluorescent Pink, Yellow and Black. All nessary materials will be provided.
You can brainstorm at home and then create your designs in the studio, or bring in artwork to format for print!
No worries if you don't have a computer or access to photoshop! We will be exploring digital and analog methods during the workshop and will be happy to assist with any tecnical questions.
Participants can decide how to transform their piece of paper. You can create prints, cards, zines.... the list is endless! We will explain the process of risograph printing and show how 2 color inks can be combined to create a range of new colors. At the end of the workshop, we will exchange prints!

About the Organizer:
Potato Bread press is a fine art and risograph studio that focuses its work on the intersection of art, design, introspection and joy. With its operation, PBP works to increase awareness and accessibility of printmaking techniques. The press is run by Claire Kiester who is currently operating out of Charlotte, NC.
Claire Kiester (she/her) created PBP in 2018 while studying printmaking at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. As an artist, Claire’s practice is focused on the use of printing and fiber techniques as tools to investigate the systems within our society and the residue they leave behind.
