Rising Voices (Free, 10 week Pre-Teen Empowerment Program)

This free, ten-week, after-school program blends fun, engaging activities with meaningful conversations about empowerment, self-confidence, and community. Meeting once a week, it provides a safe, inclusive space for girls and gender-diverse youth to connect with inspiring individuals, share their ideas, and grow together. Participants will build lasting friendships, explore their strengths, and leave each session feeling supported, empowered, and ready to shine.

Who:

Pre-teen (ages 11-13) girls and gender-diverse youth

When:

Every Thursday from October 2nd to December 4th, from 3:30 to 5:30 pm.

Where:

The North Shore Women’s Centre is located at 131 East 2nd Street, North Vancouver.

What can you expect?

• Activities and discussions on topics including: feminism, community care, truth and reconciliation, mindfulness and meditation, climate change and environmental justice, confidence and leadership, and many more!
• Some of the activities will include: Halloween goody bag-making, arts and crafts, games, journaling, dance + movement workshop, and more!
• Social activities with members of the group, including trivia + games night, and a movie social :)
• Snacks + refreshments provided!
