This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
===========
3MPTHY is an underground artist bringing a raw blend of dark rap, emo, and alternative sounds. Built around pain, individuality, and no boundaries, 3MPTHY turns real emotion into music that feels just as chaotic as it does honest. As part of NO ACCESS, 3MPTHY is carving out his own space in the underground—no rules, no filter, no access.
--
Obsidian James is an Afro-Indigenous, Harlem born, Minneapolis based singer, songwriter, guitarist, and multidisciplinary artist whose music lives at the intersection of R&B, Neo-Soul, Jazz, Blues, and Hip-Hop. A self-described “kid from Harlem who fell in love with music on a subway platform,” James blends warm guitar lines, smooth vocals, and deep-pocket grooves to create music rooted in vulnerability, storytelling, and lived experience. His work explores love, loss, identity, healing, and the lessons we carry from the people who shape us. Guided by the philosophy that he writes “to be healed, not to be heard,” Obsidian James creates music that feels intimate and honest while drawing from the rich lineage of Black music that came before him.

ODD1OUT is an independent underground collective built for the ones who never fit the mold. Different sounds, different stories, one mindset: stay original, move different, and make something that can’t be ignored.
