About this Event
Call in the new year with abundance, beauty, and radiance with a luxurious, 2-hour ritualistic yoga and sound immersion invoking the Hindu goddess, Lakshmi.
Hosted by Lydia and Cecily on New Year’s Day, you can expect a luminously divine morning of gentle yoga and breathwork, mantra meditation, a chakra aligning crystal bowl sound bath, essential oil offerings, self-reflection, and a devotional puja to call in the energy and spirit of Shri Lakshmi - the goddess of wealth, fertility, and abundance.
We will sit in circle together, set our intentions for the year ahead, throw our self-limiting beliefs into the fire of transformation, and bathe in Lakshmi’s golden light through ceremony and carefully guided devotional/bhakti practices – all bringing you back home to the heart of who you are.
You will learn rituals and practices to weave Lakshmi into your daily life and receive a gorgeous goodie bag to take home.

Cecily Chun

She is the co-founder of The Yoga Group where she offers classes, workshops, retreats and yoga teacher training programs. Cecily’s positive attitude, upbeat teaching style and warming nature is welcomed by all.
With over 17 years of teaching experience and over 10 years facilitating teacher trainings, her passion for teaching is evident and she never stops learning and loves to share her knowledge and experience to aspiring instructors.
As a firm believer in the mind, body and soul connection, her desire as a teacher and trainer is to help people feel good in their bodies and inspire you to be the best version of yourself so you can navigate through life with a greater sense of compassion, steadiness, purpose and presence.
Lydia Richards
Lydia Richards has shared yoga and meditation across Naarm since 2017, and is a true believer in the clarity, confidence and calm these sacred wisdom practices can bring to your life.
Lydia first came to yoga nearly 20 years ago, while working a stressful corporate job, turning to the practice as a method of both physical exercise and relaxation.
Her love for the practice eventually led her to leave behind the corporate world and head to
Bali where she completed her first teacher training. Lydia’s life was forever changed.
Since then, Lydia has undergone further study in yin and restorative yoga and meditation
and in 2021, Lydia completed a further 300 hours of yoga training under the tutelage of
renowned US-based teacher Janet Stone.
Lydia has shared her experiences and learnings from the path on a number of teacher
trainings and retreats, both in Australia and abroad, and in 2019 she was featured in
Caroline Whitehurst’s international compilation book: “Down Under Yogis”.
Recognising the human curriculum as our greatest teacher – Lydia loves to explore and
share how yoga philosophy can be applied to our busy, modern lives.
Lydia shares a soulful, heart-led practice steeped in the Bhakti Yoga tradition and these
days relates to yoga as more of a practice of remembering. That is, remembering everything we already are, and the unchanging soul/spirit aspect within.
