About the event
Join us for an exclusive audience meet & greet with Gellért L. Kádár, the lead actor of the latest hit TV series, on November 23 at 4 PM at Lumiere Cinema.
Don’t miss this rare chance to hear fascinating behind-the-scenes stories, learn about the making of this epic production, and ask Gellért your own questions about the show’s incredible success.
Right after the talk, stay for a special screening of the first two episodes of 'Rise of the Raven' at 5 PM in the cinema’s screening room — and immerse yourself in the dramatic world of János Hunyadi, one of Hungary’s most legendary historical figures.
About the series
Europe, 15th century. János Hunyadi rises above scandal and political intrigue spanning Italy, Poland, Austria, Serbia, and Hungary. Supported by two remarkable women—Elizabeth, his fearless wife, and Mara, his lost love in Sultan Murad’s court—he faces the might of the Ottoman Empire. When a massive army threatens to conquer Europe, Hunyadi leads a heroic defense that inspires Pope Callixtus III to order church bells to ring at noon—a tradition that endures to this day.

Episode 1: The Shadow of God
After witnessing his family’s brutal M**der by Ottoman forces, János Hunyadi devotes his life to defending Europe from Turkish invasion. While serving in the court of Serbian despot Đurađ Branković, Hunyadi is drawn into the tangled politics of Central Europe. When the Ottomans attack during the Hungarian king’s visit, John’s courage at the Battle of Golubac earns him royal favor—but costs him his love for Mara, Branković’s daughter, who is sent to Sultan Murad II’s harem to preserve peace. As Hunyadi’s legend grows, new enemies emerge from within the king’s court, where betrayal proves as dangerous as war itself.
Episode 2: The King of Kings
As Ottoman attacks intensify, János Hunyadi travels to Buda seeking aid from King Sigismund, only to be forced into royal service. With the support of János Vitéz and Elizabeth Szilágyi, he realizes that loyalty to the crown is the path to confronting his true enemies. His brilliance soon earns him the king’s trust, drawing him into Sigismund’s grand political ambitions—including a dynastic marriage and the quest for the imperial crown. Meanwhile, Mara, trapped in Sultan Murad’s harem, faces new rivalries and mounting danger as her defiance puts her fate at risk.
The episodes will be screened in Hungarian with English subtitles.
