About this Event
No business operates in isolation, and robust, efficient supply chains are absolutely critical for business success.
But it's becoming ever more important that these supply chains operate sustainably - it's good for the planet and our future obviously, but it's good for business too.
So we'll be hearing more about what makes a sustainable supply chain, how to create one, how to use it to create great products, and how to capitalise on your sustainability credentials when getting into new supply chains.
Speakers include -
Dan Martin, Next Stage Design
Dan is an Industrial Designer with 30 years of hands-on experience working on new product development and innovation projects for clients across a diverse range of sectors, from Healthcare, Metrology and Lighting corporates to funded early-stage technology companies. He's also a member of the Design Council's 'Design for Planet' expert panel, and focusses exclusively on designing, developing and creating products that align with this ethos. Dan will share some of his expertise and knowledge of how to create great products, that are great for the planet.
Jo Long, Jo Long Consulting
More and more businesses are being asked to demonstate their 'green credentials' , whether that's to win a tender, engage with a new customer, or simply as a way of standing out from the crowd. As global awareness around environmental and social issues continues to grow, sustainability is more than just a trend and is becoming a critical factor in B2C and B2B decision-making, and SMEs across the UK and beyond are finding that their commitment to ethical practices can significantly influence their success in the market.
But how do you do this while avoiding accusations of greenwashing, blue rinsing, and not being see as authentic
Jo will give us some insights into how you can share your genuine, authentic sustainability story, and reap the benefits.
Richard Johnston, TerraLigo.
Richard is a purpose-driven environmental scientist and is a prolific and widely patented innovator, with more than 25 years of business leadership in consulting, technology development and product manufacture. Working in research and development, he has developed a diverse range of commercially successful products from domestic appliances and water filters to electrochemical sensors, potentiostats and spectrophotometers for application in environmental monitoring and analysis.
Following 16 years as R&D Director at Palintest, Rich now focusses on mitigation of our environmental impact by developing leading business strategies in sustainability, particularly through impact modelling and analysis and the integration of sustainability processes in new product development.
Rich will give us an overview of how to create a framework for sustainability that reaches every area of your business.
One to One consultancy
In addition each of the three speakers will be available for one to one consultancy projects over the following months, to implement some of the strategies they've shared. This is dependent on certain eligbility criteria.
Rise and Design lasts for approximately three hours, and includes networking before and after speakers. There is a chance to pitch at the end of the speakers' presentations, and you can book a stand for the whole event. We encourage all delegates to stay after presentations for networking - it is one of the most valuable parts of Rise and Design.
