The Kennebecasis Watershed Restoration Committee is offering our Ripples & Roots Nature Camp again this year! This is a riparian restoration workshop for high school students looking to gain hands-on experience for environmental education or career pursuits. This is a rare opportunity to practice basic field skills, engage in real-world conservation and restoration strategies, and contribute to ecological projects while getting to know the inner workings of a non-profit organization. Activities include tree planting, willow staking, habitat assessment, water sampling, fish diversity and invasive species monitoring, and more!
The camp takes place from July 20th to the 24th, from 9am till 3pm each day, and costs $50 per participant. Space is limited, so payment must be e-transferred to [email protected] to secure your spot. We ask that only high school students apply (those who have previously completed grade 9, 10, 11, or 12).
Please note that priority will go to new sign-ups. Previous campers are welcome to register, and will be contacted if spaces are still available.
Ripples & Roots is made possible with funding from the New Brunswick Wildlife Trust Fund, with support from the Rotary Club of Hampton. If you have any questions please contact our Education Outreach Coordinator at [email protected].
