Rio Vista Youth Air Protectors Project Showcase and Air Quality Roundtable

Solano County has the 9th highest asthma rate of all counties in California. If not ourselves, most of us know family, friends, or neighbors who have asthma or another respiratory or cardiovascular disease. Poor air quality is correlated with higher rates of these diseases, along with exacerbating the symptoms of folks who already have them.

Sustainable Solano invites Rio Vista residents to come together for a conversation focused on the air quality issues facing our city. The Rio Vista Youth Air Protectors will present their street redesign projects that are aimed at imagining ways to make Rio Vista more walkable, safe, and sustainable, and celebrate their graduation from the internship program.

There will be a second community meeting in the spring, where we will help facilitate the creation of a community Air Quality Action Plan with residents. The hope is that this plan will be utilized by residents to shape the policy decisions of their local officials and council members.
