In this workshop, students will learn how to:
Select and prepare fat quarters for strong color contrast
Use efficient cutting and piecing techniques to build the Rio Samba layout
Maintain accurate seams for crisp, clean blocks
Assemble the quilt top with confidence
Get tips for quilting and finishing your project at home or with a long?arm service
The Rio Samba pattern uses 14 fat quarters and finishes at 56" × 70", making it a great throw?size quilt that comes together quickly. Whether you love bright tropical colors or prefer a more subtle palette, this pattern shines in any fabric style.
Students will leave class with significant progress on their quilt top — and the skills to finish it beautifully.
Supplies Needed:
Rio Samba pattern (in the class kit)
14 coordinating fat quarters (cut and ready to stitch in the class kit)
Sewing machine in good working order
Rotary cutter, mat, ruler
Thread, pins, seam ripper, iron, iron mat
Cancellation Policy: All cancellations or rescheduling must be made no less than 48 hours before the class, otherwise you forfeit the class fee. If a class has fewer than 3 students it will be cancelled and rescheduled. With a cancellation by Fabric Obsession, you may choose to be refunded or receive a store gift card.
Payments must be made in advance to secure your spot.
