Utilizing hand tools and a torch, our metal smithing instructor, Beth Liggitt guides you step-by-step through the design and creation of your one-of-a-kind rings. Students will be able to choose from design options including stackers, an embellished stacker, or an open shape ring as well as metal options (mixed metal or single metal colors). Bronze, copper, and brass are included in the registration fee, sterling silver will be available as well at an extra charge.
This fun jewelry making workshop is perfect for any skill level, wonderful to do for a date or friends night out, and you will leave with a great gift, or a gift for yourself!
Experience how much fun it is to make something that you will love to wear. In this workshop, you will learn basic ring design, sizing, forming, and soldering techniques. We’ll also look at various ways of adding texture, including hammering and stamping and will add patina as desired for that extra pop of contrast.
Materials and tools will be supplied. Just bring your imagination! Please note that we do know that things come up, so our class cancellation policy reasonably accommodates our valuable customers and is respectful of our instructors’ time and effort to prepare for and purchase materials for classes. We ask that if you must reschedule, please do so as far in advance as possible. Cancellations within 24 Hours prior: forfeits class fee, and no show forfeits class fee. If the class minimum size is not met within 2 days prior to the class, the instructor or gallery reserves the right to cancel the class. Students will be notified by phone and given full class credit. These students will be contacted first if the class is rescheduled.
Please wear closed-toe shoes. This is close-up detail work, please bring any magnification eyewear you might typically use for such work.
