About this Event
Come celebrate the deep connections between surfing, orcharding, and coastal ecosystem health at the latest Mad Agriculture Journal launch party, hosted at The Steward Hotel. This gathering is produced in partnership with The Steward Hotel, Rincon Farms, Tractor Beverage Company, and Mad Agriculture. It honors the shared spirit of Rincon Point and Rincon Farms, two iconic landscapes shaped by waves, wind, soil, and seasonality.
Rooted in community-building, coastal ecology, food, and storytelling, the evening brings together farmers, surfers, chefs, artists, land stewards, and curious souls to explore what it means to cultivate abundance along the California coast. Through food, film, and conversation, we will reflect on the rhythms that bind surf and soil, and the ways seasonal resilience emerges in both water and land.
We will gather under the sky for an intimate celebration of the arrival of Mad Agriculture Journal Issue 14, an edition that centers fecundity, friendship, and the creative work of tending both land and life.

The evening’s menu highlights the flavors and abundance of Carpinteria’s coastal orchards.

Together they will explore seasonal resilience, the creative and ecological practices shaping Rincon Farms, and the artistry of growing food in a changing climate.
Why This Matters
This is a gathering of people who believe in the power of agriculture, ecology, and community resilience, and in the shared work of tending land, water, and culture along California’s coast.
Issue 14 includes a moving essay by avocado farmer Sean Bettles and Mad Agriculture CFO Tanner Starbard. Their writing reflects on friendship, fertility, creativity, and the balance required to steward land in the modern world. This event invites us into that story.
All guests will receive a copy of Mad Agriculture Journal Issue 14. Your ticket supports Mad Agriculture’s work to cultivate a more resilient, abundant, and life-giving food system.
