UTC-07:00Location
Pecos Park & Ride | Phoenix , AZ

At 8,482' Rincon Peak is the tallest peak in the Rincons in Sahuaro National Park. It is a very hard and steep hike of roughly 15 miles round trip and 4,500+ elevation gain. This is a NOT a beginners or moderate hike at all. Late October should be just about right to hit this peak, enjoy some fall colors and avoid snow. I will set up a carpool from the Valley at Pecos Park & Ride 16864 S 40th St Phoenix AZ with a meetup time of 5:15 am, then we will drive to Miller Creek Trailhead near Benson AZ to start our hike. There are nice disperse car camping spots near the TH if you want to head there Friday afternoon/evening.
Recommended items: Wind / puffy jacket; flash light or head lamp, comfortable hiking boots/trail runners, hiking poles, food / snacks, electrolytes, enough water to sustain you for a long day of hiking. Download map / trail on your phone, phone charger & power bank, first aid kit, sun screen, bugs spray.
