RILYC: Voices in the Casa ft. Mari of Sweet Sensation & Linda Vega

RILYC invites you to Voices in the Casa presented in partnership with Scenic Root Art on February 27, 2026 at the Casa Guadalupe Center Community Cafe in Allentown, PA.

Voices in the Casa is a free open mic experience that brings together a range of creative voices and performance styles and will feature a special guest appearance by Mari Fernandez from the legendary freestyle group Sweet Sensation. Mari was an original member and backup dancer and singer for the Bronx-based freestyle group, appearing in the iconic 1986 “Hooked on You” music video. Alongside her sister Margie and lead singer Betty “Dee” LeBron, she helped form the trio in 1986 and contributed to a sound and style that helped define an era of freestyle music. Her appearance brings legacy, culture, and high-energy performance to an already dynamic night.

Whether you are performing or attending to support Voices in the Casa, the evening is designed to celebrate expression, culture, and connection.

Music throughout the night will be provided by DJ Ivo, keeping the energy flowing between performances. Doors open 5:30 PM. Event 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM.
