established in 2022. Presented annually to an exceptional undergraduate studying percussion or guitar in Carleton University's Bachelor of Music Program. This Award & Concert honours Riley’s too-brief, yet profound musical legacy & contributions to the Ottawa music scene

MAYBURY (Ottawa Alt Rock)
Ottawa alternative rock band Maybury take influences from early 2000s bands and embellish it with classic elements of rock n' roll to make simple, anthemic songs that get you out of that slump and onto the dance floor. Their new EP, "Unwavering Resolve" sings of love, loss and the burning rage of the human experience.
THE SUPER AWESOME CLUB (Ontario Jazz Wizards)
A four-piece groove machine that hails from Ottawa and plays all instrumental hits. Matt Ouimet (drums), Steve Boudreau (keys), Jake Von Wurden (bass), Wayne Eagles (guitar).

ABOUT THIS YEARS RILEY TAYLOR MEMORIAL AWARD RECIPIENT
ROBBIE RIGG Is an Afro-Caribbean and Canadian guitarist known primarily for his work with Ottawa-based Rock and Soul band The Lionyls. Born in Sarnia, Ontario, at an early age he was immersed in the sounds of his father’s blues, rock, and R&B records. After discovering the music of Jimi Hendrix, he became enamoured with the sound of the guitar. This led him to further develop his palette of music influences to include artists such as The Police, Santana, Earth, Wind & Fire, The Meters, Parliament Funkadelic, Grant Green and a deep love for the genres of blues, jazz, soul, funk, afrobeat, pop, rock and reggae. The combination of these influences makes for an exciting fusion and inimitable style.
