Rigid Heddle 2.0 - Next Steps

Description: Learn to expand the possibilities of your loom by using a pick-up stick (or two) to produce lacy weaves, windowpanes, honeycomb, etc. You will learn to read pick-up patterns and explore how to use warp and weft floats in creative ways.

You will receive loom set-up instructions before the class.

Cost: LDWS Members – $65, Non-Members – $85

Date: Sunday October 4, 2026

Time: 10am- 3pm

Participant Requirements: Introduction to Rigid Heddle Weaving or being comfortable with warping and basic weaving

Equipment to bring:

• 2 contrasting colours of 4/8 cotton or dishcloth cotton
• Rigid heddle loom with a 7.5dpi heddle
• Arrangements may be made to rent a loom from the LDWS Guild, if one is available

Material Cost: There is no extra material fee.

Our classes are primarily designed for adult learners. Students under 18 may register and attend if they are mature enough to participate fully, however, they must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who is over 18 and is also registered for the class.

The workshop is limited to 8 participants, please register early.

This class has a minimum number of 7 participants to proceed. If this number is not reached we’ll let you know about a week before the start of class. You will be refunded your full registration.

***Cancellation Policy: Participants who cancel their registration up to 1 month prior to the start of the workshop will receive a full refund. A participant who finds a replacement for his/her spot within 1 month prior to the start of the workshop will receive a full refund. Cancellations within 1 month of workshops (with no replacement found) and “no-shows” will not be refunded. If the Guild cancels a workshop for any reason, all registration fees will be refunded.
