Righteous Roots (est. 2021) is the songwriting and production of Virginia born guitarist and vocalist, Tom Leighton. Righteous Roots has performed hundreds of shows and dozens of festivals throughout VA, NC, SC, PA, MD, TN, WV, and DC. In 2023, Tom relocated to the Wilmington area to take his music career to the next level. Upon arriving to Wilmington, Tom recruited Lead Guitarist (Brent Harrel), Percussionist (Josh Wells), Drummer (Jeff Bridgers), Bassist (Ethan Langley), and Saxophonist (Nat Shaw). All extremely skilled musicians who have played with multiple other NC based projects. The dynamic 6 piece has quickly taken the area by storm and become the talk of the town. Recently, Righteous Roots headlined the first ever Music Festival (Benefitting Equestrian Rescue) at Walker World in Wilmington, opened up for the Legendary HR of Bad Brains in Wilmington, and had their original music featured in the romantic comedy film, Boardwalk Winter, shot in Virginia Beach by Wondermade Productions!
