This event features a candlelight vigil; activities for making connections, kinship (family support) and healing; short messages from partnering organizations and local leaders; and a keynote speaker Aswad Thomas. Aswad is the Vice President, Alliance for Safety and Justice (ASJ); National Director Crime Survivors for Safety and Justice (CSSJ) ASJ’s flagship project; author of The Stars Represent You and Me and surviving victim of violence
