About this Event
-$25.00 entry, due at the time of registration.
-Each player will need to create accounts on the following sites and link them together:
- account.riotgames.com
- locator.riftbound.uvsgames.com
- play.carde.io (We can do this one in store if you have the other two already linked)
-The format is Booster Draft. Each player will be provided with 3 unopened booster packs of the latest set to open and draft amongst other players. Players will be assigned a draft pod and seated randomly around a table.
-The draft process is as follows:
- Each player opens one of their boosters, removes the Rune or token (for them to keep), then looks through the remaining contents to ensure there are thirteen undamaged cards in the pack with a correct rarity distribution. They must select one to draft to the top of a single unobscured facedown pile in front of them, then pass the remaining contents facedown to the player to their left. Players repeat this process with the cards passed to them until there are no cards remaining.
- Once the first pack is completed, repeat this process with the second pack, except passing cards to the right.
- Once the second pack is completed, repeat with the third pack, again passing cards to the left.
-After drafting, each player should have 39 cards to use as their limited card pool. Players must adhere to the following rules for deck construction:
- Main Decks for draft decks must be at least 20 cards, but can be more.
- The domain identity of a draft deck is any three domains, or any domain plus the domains of the deck’s Champion Legend.
- A draft deck may have any Champion Unit that is included in its domain identity as its Chosen Champion, even one that does not have a champion tag that matches its Champion Legend (if it has one).
- A draft deck may contain any signature spells that are fully included in its domain identity, even if the deck does not include the corresponding champion.
- Players may only include Runes from any source in their Rune Deck that match the domain identity of their draft deck. (Basic runes will be provided by the store for use during these events)
- A draft deck is still legal if it has no Champion Legend or Chosen Champion. A player may opt not to use a Champion Legend or a Chosen Champion in their draft deck even if they have them among their drafted cards. If a player's deck is missing a Champion Legend and/or a Chosen Champion, they draw a card at the start of their first Beginning Phase each game. (If both are missing, they still only draw one card.)
- The normal restrictions on quantities of named or signature cards do not apply. For example, a player may use 5 of the same card in their Main Deck if they selected them during the draft.
- The “Unique” keyword does not apply in draft.
- A draft deck’s sideboard is every card drafted by the player as part of the competition that isn’t used in their starting deck configuration. Additionally, players may change their domain identity, Rune Deck, Legend, and Chosen Champion while sideboarding as long as the resulting deck still follows the rules outlined above.
- Players may change their starting deck configuration between tournament rounds.
-After deck construction, we will run 3 tournament rounds of Swiss. Each round will be a 60 minute timed best-of-three game match, with a 3 turn overtime period after which scores are compared - the game will end in draw unless a player is up 2 or more points in which case that player wins. Players may intentionally draw (ID) their match at any time.
-Each player will receive an organized play promo pack for participation. Additional prizes will be awarded at the end of the event based on match results: 2 boosters will be awarded per match win, and 1 booster will be awarded per match draw. These boosters may be banked and redeemed at a later date, or converted into store credit at any time at a rate of $3.50/booster. In addition, players finishing with a positive record (more wins than losses) will be awarded an extra organized play promo pack.
