Kitty Whitelaw is a Scottish jazz musician based in London. Her recent musical endeavours have been influenced by folk music, inspiring her to create “Riffin The Scotch” (named after the 1933 Billie Holiday/Bennie Goodman tune). This musical project has brought together her love for jazz and Scottish folk music, with Maxine Sullivan’s 1937 recording of “Loch Lomond” serving as one of the main sources of inspiration.
Expect a night blending the swing and soul of Billie Holiday and Maxine Sullivan with iconic Scottish tunes. Including Loch Lomond, Skye Boat Song, Blue Bells of Scotland, and celebrating Robert Burns, of course!
Whether you’re a fan of Jazz or folk, this performance promises to be a fantastic celebration of both genres, filled with rich, nostalgic melodies.
