Ridge Preservation Hero Lab + PRF | Hands-On Pig Jaw Course
About this Event
Every implant starts with the ridge you save. In this small-group, hands-on lab, you'll practice ridge preservation from start to finish on pig jaws, then learn to make and use PRF with live blood draws.
Morning: Ridge Preservation
- Why ridges collapse after extraction, and when to graft
- Socket grafting: picking and packing graft material
- Membranes: trimming, placement and handling
- Suturing to hold it all together, including the sling suture
Afternoon: PRF
- What PRF is and how it helps healing
- Live draws and the centrifuge protocol (being drawn is optional)
- Making PRF plugs, membranes and "sticky bone"
- Putting PRF to work in your ridge preservation cases
Your instructors
- Dr. Sausha Toghranegar, periodontist (Perio Hero, North Tampa Periodontics)
- Dr. Vanessa Alexiou, board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon, adjunct faculty at Nova Southeastern University
