Rides of March 2023
Friday, March 24, through Sunday, March 26
Rally packs are $30 and can be purchased in person during the rally weekend. They will include an iron-on patch (rockin’ out retro style!) and the famous Santa Maria-style barbecue lunch by Strangebrew Scooter Crew as well as a few other goodies.
FRIDAY
Afternoon — Enjoy the restaurants and boutique stores of San Luis Obispo. The main street downtown is called Higuera Street, and the busiest part of downtown is Higuera between Osos Street and Nipomo.
6 p.m. — Meet and Greet. At Madonna Inn in the bar. (https://www.madonnainn.com)
8 p.m. — We will take a short ride from Madonna Inn to Benny’s Pizza Palace and Social Club, 1601 Monterey Street, https://www.bennysppsc.com/. There will be DJs and drinks and all your favorite riding folks. No cover and plenty of scooter parking.
SATURDAY
9 a.m. — Meet at Nautical Bean coffee shop, 11560 Los Osos Valley Road at Madonna Road (https://www.nauticalcafecoffeehouse.com). Have some coffee and make sure your scooter is gassed up and ready to go. There is a gas station next to the coffee shop.
10:30 a.m. — Centerstands up. Leave for the 100-mile ride around our picturesque county. Ride maps will be distributed in the coffee shop parking lot.
Around 2 p.m. — Ride arrives at Biddle Park Park in Arroyo Grande, 3500 Lopez Drive, for the best barbecue made by the best barbecuers, Strangebrew Scooter Crew! They’ll show you how Santa Maria-style barbecue is really done. (As always, vegetarians and vegans will be treated to their own tasty options.) The park to Avenue Inn in San Luis Obispo is 13 miles of country roads.
Saturday night — Gather at our favorite watering hole in SLO, McCarthy’s Irish Pub, 600 Marsh Street at Nipomo Street (https://www.facebook.com/McCarthysIrishPubSLO)
SUNDAY
10 a.m. — Meet back at Nautical Bean for a ride through the picturesque Montaña de Oro and beyond.
