Saddle up and join us for a guided BEGINNER CITY CYCLIST BIKE RIDE. This all-ages event will practice safe cycling through the city streets east of Downtown to the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo. All riders are required to ride as traffic. STOP at red lights and stop signs, do not block traffic, and respect your fellow riders and ride leaders.

Need a bike? The Ghisallo Cycling Initiative has a limited amount of program bicycles available to riders who know how to ride but may not have their own bikes. Complete the form below to help us provide a size appropriate bike and helmet for your use for the duration of the event. If you have children who need bikes too, please indicate their height.
Riders must be capable of riding WITHOUT TRAINING WHEELS for 5 miles at a 6-10 mph pace. Helmets are REQUIRED. If you do not wish to wear one you will not be allowed to join the ride. All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times, both on and off the bike.
Where: Lockwood Park, 801 N Olive St, San Antonio, TX 78202
When: February 17th, 2025 at 10AM, Wheels down 10:30 AM
Route: 5 MILES round trip at a FAMILY PACE (6-9mph)
We will park and lock our bikes together, explore the fair grounds as a group or independently, and meet back at bike parking at 1:30 PM. Please be respectful of this time frame as we will not leave until everyone has returned to unlock their bike.

The San Antonio Stockshow and Rodeo does not allow outside food or drink. Be prepared to dispose or leave your water bottle with your bike and have your bag searched before entry. If you do not have a lock, we will bring some but please, bring your own. We do not assume responsibility for personal bicycles or items left in them.
