What is Ride The Drive?
Ride the Drive, organized by the City of Madison Parks Division, is roughly 3 miles of city streets closed to motor vehicles and activity hubs along the way offering activities, food and fun for all ages. It’s thousands of happy healthy people coming together to experience parks and open streets in a single, one-day, FREE, community event.
Since the inaugural Ride the Drive in 2009, this event continues to celebrate Madison’s commitment to a healthy, active living, focusing on the environmental and economic impacts and the importance of social integration. No ticket or registration is required to attend.
How Can You Participate?
Be a Volunteer
We invite volunteers to help with various roles, including setup, intersection guides, cleanup, and staffing booths. Each volunteer will receive a 2026 Ride the Drive t-shirt.
Be a Sponsor
Show off your company or organization to thousands of happy people leading up to, during and after the event. As a Ride the Drive sponsor, you are linking your business to an environmentally positive event and healthy living.
Be a Vendor/Exhibitor
Are you a local food cart, artist or craft vendor? Is your business located near or along the route? Showcase your business or organization as a RTD vendor.
